Working

Hi, tomorrow will be my first week working in the hotel, I have to work Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 1pm, so I had to change my session in the college but it was good because I could know new people and teachers.
In my job I have to go to each room from the hotel and check its minibar and whether something is missed I have to put the same product in the minibar. After I go to every room, I have to fill a sheet up and write the product and the room number which I have to put in the minibar.
The job is easy, also I can practise English with my coworkers and receive some money, the worst is that I can not go to the trips because I have to work on weekends, maybe later I can speak with the manager and try to do something with that case.

Trips: Winchester, Portsmouth, Corfe Castle, Jurassic Coast

Hi, I want to tell you that those trips have been amazing, because I have been able to learn a lot of things about British culture and new places in the world as well. If I had to choose about what is the best trip so far? It could be very difficult, I liked every place and every moment and that is the important. Because in Winchester I knew The Great Hall and Round Table, and King Alfred, in Porstmouth about the old british ships and Spinnaker Tower. In Corfe Castle about the civil war in England, and in Jurassic Coast about the world heritage site and beautiful sights.

Looking for a Job

Hi, I have been looking for a job since 3 weeks ago, because the money which I had brought from Colombia is finishing, so I have to get a job as soon as possible. I have printed my CV and gone to several hotels and restaurants, and three days ago I recived a phone call from one hotel called Norfolk Royale Hotel, I had a interview and the manager told me that I would have a kind of trial next saturday and sunday. I hope that I can learn fast the things that I have to learn, however I know that I have learned somethings fast in the past, this is a new challenge for me, because it is a different job in a hotel.

One month in Bournemouth

Hi, I 've been living four weeks in Bournemouth and everything is amazing, however the wheater can be so cold when it's raining, the views around the town can beat the other things.

Moving to another house

Hi, I am very tired today due I had to move to another house, so I had to pack my luggage and organize the other room which I had been living. After to do everything I had my lunch and I came back to the room to check that I wouldn't have forgotten anything. Later I had to say good bye and thank you to my host family. After I put my things in my new room in the other house, I had to go to the supermarket called Asda, because I wanted to know it, beside Asda is close to the train station and bus station, then I could know those places at the same time. It was my first time that I had to buy some groceries, because I am in the new house and I have to do everything by myself, it can be a good experience for me, I hope so.

Class and Shopping

Hi, today was my first class in advance level, it was nice, because all the people speak very well, there are people from Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Turquia, India, España. We were speaking about our cities and countries. After the class, I went to buy a Jacket, at this time the winter clothes are very cheap, my jacket cost 3 pounds, I don't know wheter it was a mistake because the seller said it's incredible. Later I went to the libraries because I wanted to buy a book and a dictionary, I bought the book "The girl with the dragon tattoo" from Stieg Larsson, it cost 5 pounds, it's very cheap, because in Colombia cost 15 pounds. I couldn't buy the dictionary because I don't know what is the best, either Longman or Oxford. I was searching on internet and the people said that both are good.

Trip: New Forest, Stonehenge and Salisbury

Hi, today was amazing, because I went to New Forest, Stonehenge and Salisbury. The first place is known because of in the past people thought that lived witches, so the stores have some witch signs, besides in the road, I could see a lot of horses, the horses live in the forest and people go to feed them. If someone hit or kill to a horse, the person has to pay 500 pounds to the government. We had breakfast and it cost 5 pounds, they say the it was the most famous cream tea in England. The second place was Stonehenge, it's an amazing place and magic, because I don't know how the ancient civilizations could build this place, the stones weigh some tons. I had to pay 6,80 pounds by entrance. Later we went to Salisbury, it's a beatiful place, it has a cathedral very big, the cathedral is the second cathedral biggest in Europe. The architecture is very old, and Salisbury has a lot of old houses and buildings. We could feed some swans and ducks when we were entered to Salisbury, because Salisbury has a little river and on the river we could see them. We came back to Bournemouth at 6pm and I came to the house at 7:30pm.

Free English lessons

Hi, today I went to a free english lesson in anglo continental, it's another college from English. It was very good, because I could know new people and practice again, due to this week I had holidays. It's a shame that it was the last class in this timetable, so I will have to go to the new free english lesson on thurdays from 5 to 7. Besides it's nice going to the classes because you can get a certificate and perhaps a lunch, trip, dictionary. I hope that I can go the next week.

Interviews

Hi, today I had two work interviews. The first was in Lawe Worlwide and I believe that it was great, because I could tell them about my last job and what I did in the company, they told me that they call me if they have a oportunity for me in their company. Later I went to Bournemouth Beaches, and I had to fill a form with five pages with my information and the past jobs that I had. After I finished the form, they told me that they had to do and trial and if a pass the trial they can hire me. They' ll pay me 7,50 pounds for 1 hour. I have to wait for an answer. Before that I had to go to the bank for my bank card, then I picked it up and I went to wilkison and I bought 2 sodas and a snack..

Looking for a Job

Hi, today is raining here, and I don't want to go out, but I have to go an interview with a company called Lowe Worldwide, it is an international creative advertising agency. I sent them my CV and then they called me to make an appointment today at 4:20pm. I don't know but it's difficult speak in English on mobile phone, I had to say: Can you speak slowly please?. It was very funny, but the people is very kind.
Well, I wish the rain stopped, because otherwise I will have to use my umbrella for going to the interview.
Later I am going to tell you how was my interview and wheter I was hired.

Buying tickets

Hi, today I was to the B.I.C (Bournemouth International Centre) to buy a ticket for Underoath Concert, it's a rock band. The ticket cost 13 pounds, but I had to pay 14,30 pounds for charge. Later, I went to the beach and I could walk on the sand, see snails and littles stones. I passed close to the Oceanarium, after I passed close to the Pavilion theatre, and I saw the cinema as well. I entered to the art gallery and I saw very beatiful pictures. Later I went to ST Peter's Church because in that church is buried Mary Shelley, she was writer, and she wtote Frankenstein. The most particular thing that I saw, is that, people can eat inside of the church. It has a cafeteria and you can eat a breakfast if you want to

Queen's Park

Hi, yesterday I was in Queen's park, it's amazing, I could see a big area surrounded with tress, grass, also, it has a golf field, and a lake. People is going there because they can go with their pets, play with a ball, make food with their families. It's a beatiful place to know and enjoy it. You can play golf free, but you have to have yours golf clubs. Maybe sometime I can play golf, because it would be my first time.

Boscombe

Hi, today I went to Boscombe, it's a neighborhood from Bournemouth, but it has a lot of stores and it was my first time that I saw people were sold everything, fruts, clothes, flowers, besides I saw some buildings from Bournemouth University. I went to O2 Academy because I thought that I could get a ticket for a rock concert, but It wasn't. This week I have to go to the Old Fire Station to get a ticket for Underoath concert, the entrance cost 13 pounds. I went to the Old fire station today, but it was closed, sorry for me. The best thing today was that I started to use the map, and it is very useful because I could go to everywhere, maybe this week I'll buy a bike.
At this moment I am waiting for my girlfriend, because I am going to speak with her on skype. I hope that the network works. 

Party

Hi, yesterday I was in Flava, it's a great disco, I went with two colombians friends and before entering I lost a glove, it's a shame because sometimes bournemouth can be very cold. My friends study in Capital, so they know a lot of people from europe, then I can know people from Swiss, France, Germany, Japan, also I can practice english with them. Later, we returned to the house more or less at 3am. It was so cold but I had two sweatshirt, then I felt nothing cold.

Second and third day

Hi, my seconds day was nice, because it was my first day the class in the school, the tearchers are good, and the classmates too. Later I had to get my letter from the school, because I needed for getting my bank account and a register in the medical centre. I couldn't take any pictures because my battery was discharged. The topic in the class was about hypothetical situations, I knew that topic, but it was very good for me, because I wasn't lost in my first day in the school.


Today I had to wake up early because I had to go buying a mobile phone and getting a bank account before entering to the class at 11:30 am. I went to Llooyds and the assessor helped me to open the bank account, I got a classic, because in this kind of account, you don't have to pay anything.
Before going to the bank I bought my mobile phone in three, because this mobile has skype, then I can speak with my family easily.

In the class we follow with the same topic and write in type report.

Travel and first day in Bournemouth

Hi, today is my first day in Bournemouth, it´s very beautiful and cold too. I arrived yesterday night and the travel was exhausting because from Bogota to Madrid is 10 hours, later, form Madrid to London is 2 hours.
I was in the morning at SNT College, it´s a very nice place to study. I had a test and later I had a meet with the principal. I am gonna start in 5.II level, because the classes are finishing this week, and I am going to be on vacations the next week, but this week is in 5II, they told me that the next week I´ll begin in level 6.

Sacando la VISA

Holas, en este tema quiero decir que las agencias de estudios en el exterior le colaboran a uno a llenar la papeleria y nos dicen cuales son los documentos que necesitamos, pero basicamente los documentos que necesite fueron:
- Documento de la cita en la embajada
- Certificado del nivel de ingles
- Carta de aceptacion de la escuela y demas documentos que nos puedan enviar
- Pasaporte vigente y todos los que tengan

Creo que estos son los documentos necesarios, si me acuerdo de alguno mas lo agregare despues. Tenemos que tener en cuenta que la embajada viaja a otras ciudades una vez al mes, entonces tienen que estar pendientes para saber cuando es el dia de la cita. Aunque para poder sacar esta cita, tenemos que realizar una transccion con tarjeta de credito por valor de 370 dolares, y cuando se pide la cita se sabe el lugar y la fecha de ésta.
Si la presentacion de la cita es en una ciudad diferente a la capital, tenemos que pagar ademas 90 mil pesos, que incluye el envio de la papeleria y el retorno, este envio es un correo seguro, al parecer es muy confiable.

En el dia de la cita, simplemente se presentan con la papeleria, le toman una foto, luego las huellas dactilares y luego se pasa a otro salon en donde esta la gente para enviar la documentacion. Esto me demoro alrededor de 15 minutos, fue realmente rapido.

Lo segundo por hacer

Holas, despues de ver varias opciones de escuelas y de lugares en Inglaterra, me decidi por escoger a SNT College en Bournemouth, ya que me parecio una ciudad muy bonita (por las fotos que he visto en internet) y para cuestiones obtener la visa puede resultar mas facil, ya que una de las politicas de para obtener la visa del Reino Unido es: Poder demostrar que uno tiene suficiente dinero para estar alla, para Londres son 800 libras al mes y fuera de Londres son 600 Libras, entonces se puede evidenciar que la diferencia es de 200 libras al mes. Ademas en Bournemouth el costo de vida puede ser mas barata y menos extresante.

Lo primero para hacer

Hola, lo primero que hice, fue empezar a preguntar en agencias de estudios en el exterior sobre los cursos que se podian tomar, el lugar y el costo. Despues que tuve esta informacion, me centre mas en buscar informacion mas especifica, y fue en cursos de ingles en inglaterra. De esta manera pude encontrar las escuelas y sus costos, aunque tambien es bueno buscar en la pagina de esas escuelas para conocer el precio que ellos cobran y saber si las cotizaciones estan de acuerdo con esos precios.

Hola, he creado esdo este blog para escribir sobre mi experiencia fuera del pais. El blog lo intentare escribir en ingles para poder practicarlo y mejorar la parte de escritura, aunque en las primeras entradas lo hare en español, ademas me pueden escribir en español si lo desean . Espero les pueda ayudar a solucionar algunas dudas que tengan.
